The Process

The exciting aspect for me in my process is that it is constantly changing and growing depending on my mood and feelings at the time. I hope it gives a personal feel and honest emotion to the final pieces.

When creating a painting of children, I first meet with the parents or individual commissioning the piece. We discuss the image they want captured of their child/children, talking also about color and size. I then like to set up a time to meet the children and take photographs. After my artistic recommendation, we select a photograph from which I will create a painting.

When creating my nude abstracts, I work from personal sketches. I layer the paint and allow the color and texture to inspire and guide me on each individual piece. The body is a landscape and I love creating visual movement that will roll across its surface.
